Chocolate Chip and Pecan Cookies


I would have to say Chocolate Chip cookies are my favorite, especially with a cold glass of milk! Nestle Toll House Cookies are the ones I always make!

I was in the mood for cookies one rainy day and decided to make Chocolate Chip cookies with Pecans. They were delish I must say, I have always made them with Walnuts, but change can be a good thing and in this case it was!

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels (I used extra)
1 cup chopped Pecans

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.

Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Gradually beat in flour mixture.

Stir in morsels and nuts.

Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

I could eat these cookies any time of day or night. It is hard to top a good chocolate chip cookie and those look great!!!

The added touch of the pecans really makes these over the top. You're so right about warm cookies with a glass of milk!

I LOVE chocolate chip cookies - when I was a little girl and my family lived in the US for a while, my favourite snacks were "Dunkin Hines" chewy choc chip cookies - I still think about them now! I find all the cookies in the supermarkets here are the hard, crumbly, crunchy kind and I don't like those at all - I like the chewy, soft kind! I tried to make some myself but they also came out hard and crispy! What's the secret to making them soft and chewy??
