Cheddar Garlic Biscuits

I have to admit I cannot make a decent biscuit to save my life, so it is the one of the few things that I use a mix for. I doctor the mix up, and they are pretty dang good! They taste just like the Cheddar Biscuits at Red Lobster.

1 package Jiffy Biscuit Mix
1/2 cup of grated cheese (any kind you like)
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
dried or fresh chives

In a bowl combine the mix, cheese, and chives

Add the milk and mix with a spoon until a doughy consistency (you may have to add a bit more milk)

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet
Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes

Add the garlic powder to the melted butter, mix well and brush over the biscuits when they come out of the oven

Looks tasty. I am sure they were great dipped in the soup. Hope you feel better soon.

these look great! i have apple, bacon and cheddar scones on my to-make-soon list, and they have a lot of ingredients similar to yours. i struggled a lot with biscuits, too. i can make a decent but not bloggable one now, after reading bobby flay's instructions many, many time ;)

I'm sure I could provide you with a no-fail buttermilk biscuit (scone) recipe you'd love!!!

P.S. Next time, try adding a bit of ceyenne pepper and a dash of mustard powder to your cheesy biscuits. It really brings the cheese flavour up a notch! Mmmm, I'm getting hungry...got a special treat coming up just for you too!!! ;o)

Well they look pretty dang good, Cheryl. We can't all be good at everything, the trick is knowing your failings and admitting, sorry, compensating for them. :-)

With me it's pastry - no way, no how.

I have really been into quick breads lately, especially muffins and biscuits. I am excited to give these gems a try. They look wonderful.

Red Lobster's biscuits are my favorite! I've made something similar with Bisquick but not Jiffy. I'll have to give these a try!

I put myself through college working at Red Lobster... one of the secrets is the cheese. You must use the thinly grated cheese, not regular grated. Just thought I'd put that out there!

How to spatchcock a chicken or turkey!

Finishing some of Cheryl's drafts... Keeping spatchcocking simple. Using a VERY sharp cleaver or kitchen shears -- not scissors, carefu...
