Our favorite type of corn is called Olathe. You can only get it at a Fred Meyers store. It is grown in Colorado and Krogers a.k.a. Fred Meyers purchases the majority of the available corn directly from the growers.
It is a multi color sweet corn and my husband loves it. It is so tasty in fact it barely needs to be cooked, I could eat it raw all day long!
I like to freeze uncooked corn so he can enjoy it all winter long. I started out with 20 ears of corn and I thought I would share the process! I have a bunch more yet to do before the season ends. Bella was a HUGE help, NOT really, but she enjoyed being underfoot and chewing on whatever fell her way!
Some of my beautiful ears!
The Deaders, ready for the Yard Debris Bucket
The shaved corn. I don't cook them, just peel, shave and freeze!

I've bought that corn at Kroger's and you're right, it is sweet as candy. Great idea to bag and freezeit. I'll have to follow your lead.

My fav kind of corn is this non-sweet, chewy, glutinous corn that I can so far only find in Asia. SO good!
