I took her to the Vet today and she has a heart murmur, as well as something definitely wrong with her heart, and more importantly her lungs. We did Xrays, Blood Work and the Vet is getting a second opinion before giving us the news. She has a fever as well so is being treated for an unknown infection.
It could be anything from Asthma to Bronchitis to Cancer. We are hoping against hope it is something treatable.

Oh, I'm so sorry that MA is under the weather. You bet she'll be in our thoughts and prayers ... you will be, too. I hope that she is resting comfortably, taking up 2/3rds of your bed. Keep us posted.

Cheryl, You know how crazy I am about dogs and I just adore Martha Anne even though I've never met her. I'm thinking of you...Definitely get a second opinion. I've been there with a very sick dog, got a second opinion after being told very bad news and my dog lived to be an old man!! Please keep me updated....

Like Debbie...I had a dog that had fits like that...one vet said it was asthma but later on, another vet said he had an enlarged heart (cardiomegaly)and it pushed on the lungs and the trachea. He did this all his life and he still lived to be about 15 years old...(remember CrackerJack?) Thinking of you...for sure.
P.S. The doc gave him a med called Theodur that did help. Sending prayers & good vibes to you, J, Bella and especially MA...
