Blogversary and a give away!

Today, instead of Tips from a Frugal Housewife I am celebrating the one year anniversary of my cooking blog. The actual anniversary was last month and I totally missed it, so I am doing it today!

I am so glad I started this little project, luckily I had lots of encouragement from my neighbor Pam. We have barely eaten the same thing twice, and my cooking skills have improved dramatically.

I enjoy it much more than I ever thought, even if I do threaten to give it up when I get frustrated!

I am going to re-post my very first entry for your amusement.

I am giving away two of my favorite kitchen gadgets, a Silpat and my favorite item, a Micro Plane Grater! All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what would your "last meal on earth" would consist of.

The giveaway ends on April 15th, and I will draw a random commenter. Thanks for playing.

I thought I would take a picture of what many of my husbands Breakfast's look like. I try to make him a nice well balanced breakfast each day. We only do egg's 3 times a week and that is turkey bacon! Notice the heart shaped egg! I am a dork!

My last meal would include a filet mignon, medium-rare, a cup of southern pecan coffee (my favorite comes from an Ohio grocery store in my aunt's town), and some sort of lemon dessert.

I'm thinking that it would have to be deep fried - since it would be my LAST meal... why not go out with a bang?

I would start off with a very dirty ketal martini and oysters parmigiana as an appetizer. Crabmeant ravioli as an entree and tiramisu for dessert along with Frangelico and coffee.

I would be in hog heaven after this dinner and could die a happy woman.

It's too early for me to think of my last meal ;)

Just wanted to say, Happy Blogiversary! :)

a lot of people say steak... I think mine would be desserts only and lots of alcohol so I could forget about it being my last night for a little while!

steak. . .but only if it's cooked by my father-in-law or one of my brothers-in-law. They make the best juiciest steak EVER. My hubby can't even make it like they do, it's sad. :) and I love your heart egg!

Cheryl I am so proud of you! It is not easy to do an entry five days a week! I know I've tried! A year is great and I've made so many of your dishes!!! I think Seth's favorite is the Scottish eggs! He has requested them now!

As far as a last meal I think It would be cheese tortellini with alfredo sauce, Green beans, followed by ice cream!!!!

Keep up the good work!!!

Oh my last meal.... probably a big hearty Korean home-cooked meal. Anything Korean! Then I can die happy! Or if you made me that breakfast, I'd be happy with that, too!

My last meal would probably be involve pad see ew, beef chow fun, and dumplings. Love the noodles!

What a great giveaway! I could never have too many silpats or microplanes.

My last meal, huh? Would I be able to eat? I'd say a classic meal of beef wellington, medium rare. Bernaise sauce. Roasted asparagus. Potatoes gratin. For dessert? Floating islands, because I think they're to much work to make, and I love them.

Okay, now that we have that squared away...
My last meal on earth would be chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy with fried okra, followed by some kind of pie a la mode and a nice cold Shinerbock (Texan dark beer) to wash it all down!

You have a very good taste in wedding dates and food! 25 years! Holy cow! I am only 23! Lots of years to look forward too!
If I had to have a last meal that I was preparing I would go wth Cashew Chicken! But if somebody else was cooking I would have to go with a Brazilian Resteraunt!

Happy blog anniversary! I really enjoy reading it so don't give it up!
It's hard to think about a last meal because I love food. But maybe steak or fried chicken with some roasted vegetables, apple pie and something chocolate!

Happy belated blogversary!

Happy Blogiversary, Sweetie. I guess we must have started blogging around the same time. I hope we will enjoy many more milestones together.

As for a last meal, I'm torn between 2 typically English dishes. As it would be too late to worry about clogged arteries, a full English Breakfast (or brekkers): real English bacon, proper English sausages, black pudding, fried eggs, Heinz baked beans and fried bread. And on the side, some toast, lashings of butter and marmalade.

The alternative: fish , chips and mushy peas. Heaven here I come. ;-)

That is a tough question, my dad's homemade cinnamon rolls, an apple, and gelato. Random, huh?

Happy Blogaversary... a tad late.

My last meal would include chocolate and peanut butter in many forms: ice cream, cheesecake, cookies, and probably a cake. The combination is heavenly and there is nothing I'd rather having lingering on my taste buds...

My last meal would be a lobster tail dripping in butter, with a baked potato and sour cream. On the side would be some crisp asparagus and of course I would save room for dessert. I would have a strong cafe mocha with a slice of raspberry chocolate cheesecake.....Boy does that sound good!!!!!

How to spatchcock a chicken or turkey!

Finishing some of Cheryl's drafts... Keeping spatchcocking simple. Using a VERY sharp cleaver or kitchen shears -- not scissors, carefu...
