Tips from a Frugal Housewife

Welcome to Tips from a Frugal Housewife.

Today's tip is one that I discovered rather recently while browsing at one of my favorite stores, Storables. I adore that place, man oh man! I am pretty sure you can get them elsewhere, but that's where I saw them.

If you have Stainless Steel Appliances, which I do, you need the special "High Performance Cloth" they sell. It is some sort of micro-fiber, and all you do it wet it just barely and wipe down your appliances or anything stainless steel and it cleans it right up. No streaking, no chemicals and nothing to buff off. I was in heaven when I found it, I have two and they work amazingly well, I swear.

They also sell special ones for glass which work beautifully, as well.

Think of the time and money you will save on paper towels and that "special" stainless steel cleaner. You are also helping the environment!StumbleUpon

Storables -- awesome store! I have the "mitt" style of the cloth you talk about and it works great on my stainless steel garbage can (yep, it's stainless). Even though the garbage can lid lifts by stepping on the footplate, I'm stunned at the volume of gross fingerprints all over that thing. The mitt is great with it. I've not had good luck with it, though, on the stainless parts of my stove and fridge. :-( My stove gets too, um, greasy for it. :-0 Perhaps the cloth version is better than the mitt.

Yep - those are nice. Also, if you can't find those for any reason, there is something available in the grocery store called Mr. Clean Magic Eraser that is just as good...and, it gets marks off of floors, walls, even paint transfer off of car doors, etc.. Good stuff Cheryl!
